Fleeting Sweetness: Just an initial hint of something promising, the hopeful expectations in the beginning of an endeavor or a new relationship. It is fleeting as nothing good lasts long. It draws you in and promises more than it can deliver. 

Charred wood, sour smoke, ash: The feeling of something not going as planned. A faint memory of an idea or project that did not go as planned, a hint of something lost to eternal nothingness.

Metallic, ink, ozone: A hint at broken machinery or technology, failure as the remnants of hard work and time. Ink captures the scent of grand ideas that were never realized. The metallic tone represents the anxiety about an uncertain future.

Musk, leather: A musty or stale odor, reminiscent of missed opportunities or choices made, regret. Old leather adds a sense of worn resilience, and the heaviness that often accompanies financial strain.

Salt, brine: Tears, humility, or the sad sting of regret. An expression of sadness reflecting unmet expectations. 

And a mildly pungent lingering smell, that captures the feeling of being judged or ridiculed, of being shamed and embarrassed.
