Rabbit R1

The Rabbit R1 was an AI-powered handheld device that promised to do anything your phone could, just faster. In reality, it couldn’t do much of anything. The company built hype around its unique AI model, “LAM”, which supposedly was task-oriented, but the R1 only had four apps: Spotify, Midjourney, DoorDash, and Uber. It couldn’t order food nor hail a cab. It even failed at basic tasks like setting a timer or sending an email, and the battery lasted about an hour. Many users also had concerns about data privacy. The bigger problem with the many AI devices being released today is that they promise futuristic features based on what AI might achieve in the future, not what it can do now. Even if the R1 were to fix its basic issues, those other advanced features it boasts about are simply impossible with the current AI technology.
