This crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter promised a high-tech party cooler with a blender and a Bluetooth speaker. And big wheels for easier transport. It was one of the most successful Kickstarter campaigns ever and raised more than €13 million. Backers paid €200 for the cooler.
Five years later, backers had still not received their coolers. And worse yet, they were for sale on Amazon for only €99. Business Insider wrote “Backers of the Coolest Cooler were expecting a portable party. Instead what they got was a lesson in how crowdfunding really works.”
