Amopé Foot File

2016-2018

This rechargeable foot file buffs away hard skin in minutes, leaving you with beautifully soft feet. Consumers love the device. The problem was that it isn’t profitable. In 2018 the large consumer-goods corporation that owns the Amopé brand (Scholl in Europe) blamed the foot file for their disappointing profits and falling stock price. The problem is that the device is too good, it lasts too long. Consumers only need to buy the profitable refills once every three years. Paradoxically, this innovation failed because it was too good.
